Sadly this series ends up falling into the same trap most GMM shows do. I really wanted this one to be good, the setup genuinely had potential. And honestly it does start off strong, playful, funny, with this fun little love scam angle running through it. But once you hit around episode four or five, it slides right back into the same tired formula every other show like this follows, leaving barely anything memorable behind. Twelve episodes, each around fifty five to sixty minutes, so it's asking for a real time commitment, but it doesn't really deliver enough charm to justify all that. And honestly it does start off strong, playful, funny, with this fun little love scam angle running through it. But once you hit around episode four or five, it slides right back into the same tired formula every other show like this follows, leaving barely anything memorable behind. Twelve episodes, each around fifty five to sixty minutes, so it's asking for a real time commitment, but it doesn't really deliver enough charm to justify all that.

The story revolves around cousins Pai and North, both heirs to a wealthy, influential family. Pai's thriving in business, while North keeps burning through family money on failed ventures. First we meet Tim, whose chance encounter with Pai slowly develops into a slow burn romance. Except pretty quickly it's revealed Tim's been targeting Pai from the start, hoping to make him fall in love so he can lock down a secure life with a rich guy, all while secretly juggling several wealthy women on the side as their boyfriend too. Around the same time, North meets U on a hiking trip and instantly falls hard for him. This happens right after North's breakup, and in a burst of impulsiveness he proposes to U on the spot, even offering him money to say yes. Given how broke U is, he takes the money and marries him, only realizing afterward just how wealthy North's family actually is. Eventually U and Tim discover each other's scams and start helping each other pull them off, until U's secret gets exposed. By that point though, he's actually developed real feelings for North and starts trying to win him back genuinely. Meanwhile Tim, despite knowing he shouldn't be falling for Pai, can't stop himself from actually catching feelings. But fate has other plans. On their wedding day, a bunch of meddling aunties show up and wreck the whole ceremony. Pai's left devastated, not knowing how to process losing Tim after loving him so deeply. Their grandfather ends up cutting both cousins off from the family fortune, hoping it'll push them to grow as people. The rest of the show follows North and Pai rebuilding their confidence, while Tim and U come to terms with genuinely loving their partners and fight to win them back and get remarried. The grandfather's quietly watching over everything the entire time, since deep down all he wants is for his grandsons to find real love, success, and a solid future in both life and business.

The concept here is genuinely solid, and you can tell they put in real effort, but they dragged it out so unnecessarily long that it starts losing you somewhere in the middle. It kicks off really fun and playful, the chemistry between everyone was great, and some of the situations were genuinely hilarious, like when Tim and U both end up hiring the exact same woman to play their mom, stuff like that really worked. The silliness of the show worked well early on, but once the masks come off, the angst and the whole win them back arc just drags on forever. I honestly don't get why these shows keep insisting on running this long. Right now audiences want tight, sharp editing that actually holds attention. Instead these creators keep giving us these bloated episode runtimes. Why? For me the show genuinely belonged to Tim. He brings this seductive, sly energy to every scene, so much so that it feels completely believable that Pai, usually so guarded and logical, just falls apart the second Tim's in the room. And he pulls that off brilliantly. Pat has this serous look throughout which is nothing but judgy and annoying. The scenes between North and U were a lot of fun too, especially after their divorce, like the bit where North makes U sleep in an actual giant dog pen, basically a literal doghouse as a metaphor. Watching U hang around North's apartment like a puppy waiting for his owner to notice him, you just can't help rooting for the two of them to work things out. At this point honestly I don't even feel like writing much more, because I'm genuinely let down by what this show turned into compared to what it could've been. (5.5/10)

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Pinoy BL series seem to be catching up to the popularity of the Thai shows. And I must say that they are doing a pretty good job at it. Where Thai series started to get repetitive with so many shows based in a college setting with seemingly similar storylines, Pinoy series are offering the viewers with new and interesting stories and some really good sets and surroundings. This series was 8 episodes of about 25-20 minutes each. Karl, a 19-year old introvert architecture student is in the middle of an identity crisis. Prior to the start of the second semester in college and forced by his parents, he moves into his uncle's condominium unit so that he can learn to be financially independent. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems.
