Trust BBC and UK to come up with these heartwarming stories that touch you to the core in the gay genre. This loving and heartbreaking three part (one hour each) series about a gay couple trying to adopt a kid feels like an emotional rollercoaster. One minute you are laughing, the other minute you are enjoying the music and suddenly then you find yourself looking for tissues to wipe your tears. It’s a story about when people collide with each other and try to build a family out of all of their various parts. A beautiful and honest portrayal of queer adoption that takes viewers through the highs and lows of the process.  We meet a Welsh gay couple Andy and Gabe, who have been together for 8 years, meeting a social worker Jackie to start the adoption process. I had not heard of this show and surprisingly it didn't show up in the forums which is usually where I get all my LGBTQ+ content from. So I am glad when xanders here recommended to watch this show and it was available on HBO Max and I am glad I did. VENENO is a Spanish 8 episode limited series about the life of 1990s transgender pop culture icon Cristina "La Veneno" Ortiz Rodriguez, based on the book written by Valeria Vegas titled "Not A Whore, Not A Saint", who met the icon at a stage when she herself was thinking of going through transition. What the young writer uncovers is a harrowing and uplifting life story about how Ortiz evolved from a bullied and rejected teenager in a homophobic Andalusian fishing town, to a high-priced sex worker. Heartstopper has got be the most endearing, warm, earnest , romantic coming-of-age story currently on TV. Currently streaming Netflix, It is powerful, it is romantic, it is joyous, it is charming, the way it handles complex characters and situations and just how important is to have a light hearted romantic and a positive LGBTQ+ show for us audience. When there is a show that brings a smile on your face, makes you wanna just go right to the next episode, brings the largest smile on your face throughout and makes you wanna live your teenage years all over again, its obvious that the show is doing it all right. This show is an absolute MUST WATCH. Over 5 episodes of about 50 minutes each, set in 1980's London shows us the lives touched and destroyed by the encroaching AIDS epidemic of the period even as its characters try to live freely out of their respective closets. The show is absolutely beautiful, strong, sad and everything you want. I haven't felt so emotional while watching TV in a long long time. It’s capable at once of breaking your heart, putting it back, then breaking it all over again. The show opens in 1981. Finally, the mother of all gay films. Of course I had seen the film way back when it released on the big screen but I started writing my blog only much later. So, it was in my TODO list to watch the film again, so that I can review it for my blog. Whoever watches or has any slight interest in gay films, knows and has probably even seen this film. I finally got to see the film again with a buddy who is just getting into the world of gay cinema, and what better film than this to onboard him to this wonderful world. The film begins in 1963, when Ennis and Jack, about 19 years old, get a job tending sheep on Brokeback mountain. Ennis is a boy of very few words. After watching loads of crap in the film festival, here came the pleasant surprise in the form of this Peruvian small film Undertow. I am so glad I got to see this film. It is such a beautiful depiction of human emotions. Not only does the film depict the unmatched beauty of the Peruvian coastline, this bittersweet tale of a unique love-triangle set within a small fishing village explores the quest to define contemporary sexual identity.  Miguel, a respected fisherman and his beautiful bride Mariela are about to welcome their firstborn. But Miguel harbors a scandalous secret; he is also in love with a man, Santiago, a visiting artist who has been ostracized by the local community because of his sexuality. I have seen this film 2 times before and was itching to watch it for the 3rd time for a few reasons. One I wanted to see it with my boyfriend and secondly so that I can review it on my blog because this one happens to be my al time favorite gay film in all the years I have been following gay cinema. People will say that Brokeback Mountain beats all films but I think either you haven't seen this film or you are not as romantic as I am.  Henry is a successful artist in Manhattan.
