This final season keeps leaning on the same old formula, and once again never actually gives its main character any real sense of closure. Quick refresher, our lead is a university student who spends all his time frantically trying to dodge romance. No matter what he does though, the universe just keeps shoving him into one intimate situation after another. A lot of these setups are lifted straight from classic love story cliches. The whole point is watching him come up with creative ways to escape his fate and avoid falling for another guy. This season's still got six episodes, each around 23 minutes, and every episode features two of these tropey flags that could tip him into a BL storyline. Season three left off with Mob possibly caught in a love triangle between his ex Kikuchi and Hatano, the younger guy who's still a minor. A new tenant Mew moves into a new building, where he feels presence of a ghost (or a spirit, as they like to call themselves). After initial awkwardness, we find that this spirit is of the boy named Meteor, who had committed suicide. He had a major fallout with his 2 friends in the trip group and was in love with the boy, who fell in love with a girl. Meteor has been offered a second chance to life if he convinces Mew to fall in love with him. If Meteor fails, he will get banished to the afterlife. He has thirty days to complete his mission. There's also one strict rule. He cannot leave the room, or his spirit will disappear forever. In the episodes we see how Mew and Meteor get closer to one another and a connection develops. Mew tries to do everything to bring back Meteor to life.
The biggest problem of the show is the script. This premise could have been handled better in a comedy way, but as is, it fails to garner any empathy. There is literally no time spent in building the lead actors relationship and chemistry. I expected the characters to bond meaningfully as the spirit and his human companion get to know each other better. Instead, the plot drifts away to irrelevant scenes that aren't interesting to watch. We keep seeing the two guys (I guess the angel and the God of death) exchanging chatter about Meteor, which is honestly very distracting, especially given how rigid the actors are. Maybe they were asked to do that. And then the whole flashback episode of why Meteor committed suicide was also half-baked. As actors the leads did a good job, but there is only so much one can do with a bad script and execution. There is absolutely nothing memorable about this show and is gonna get lost in the sea of Thai BLs. (2.5/10)
