Koi Naam Na Do (Hindi Series) [Don't Give It A Name]

This Indian series is being sold as a story about a gay man falling for his straight best friend but honestly, at its heart, it's really about friendship and what friendship can look like when it gets complicated and messy and emotionally loaded. It's available on the YouTube channel of Last Leaf Pictures, seven episodes of about 30 minutes each. I had mixed feelings throughout and a big part of that comes down to how I felt about one of the lead characters, but more on that in a bit. Anshul and Kavith are the two men at the centre of everything. They first meet on a train heading to Delhi, both of them not really ready to go back to their hometowns. They get off midway, turn around and head back to Mumbai to give themselves one more shot at the life they want there. Anshul is an aspiring actor with a young son back in Delhi living with his grandmother. Kavith is gay, freshly out of yet another relationship, his 17th by his own count over the years. The two strike up this unusu...

Asian Mini-Series Collection - Part 3

Love in Protocol (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
4 episodes of average 10 minutes each. The main character is a researcher running a clinical study on human behaviour. He asks deeply personal questions, getting his test subject to open up about himself. These two men have already met before. Years ago, they developed a close bond over their private tutoring sessions. Nothing romantic happened back then, but those unresolved feelings have resurfaced. A boring romance with barely any emotions at all and even storewide it has really nothing new to offer. Setting a romance inside a psychological experiment seemed intriguing, but it ends up being a big yawn. The kissing scene at the end was decent but the story doesn't give any opportunity for either of the actors to show their potential.

Awakening the Steppe (Chinese Mini-Series) - 2026
A carefree vet and guesthouse owner, Amur, who lives in a grassland encounters an injured Singaporean traveler, Lei Ze Xin. Lei Ze Xin is here to fulfill his dad's wish and saves his life and looks like a light sweet romance blooms out of this unexpected encounter. But in reality he is there to say thanks to Amur since his dog saved his life. While the landscapes are really stunning, their love story comes out of nowhere and is totally unbelievable. The characters are already declaring love and talking about spending the rest of their lives together, making plans to open a pet clinic together. The show feels rushed and unrealistic. Aside from the beautiful scenery, there isn’t much that truly stands out or stays with you after finishing the series.

Laundry Romance (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
4 episodes of just about 7 minutes each. Could easily have been a short film. It's about two men who meet at a laundromat. The main character feels anxious about his upcoming job interview. While waiting for his clothes to dry, a friendly stranger offers some unexpected career advice. They become friends and start hanging out more often. As they grow closer, romantic feelings start to develop between them. The show offers a sweet couple with a simple relationship. But honestly,  it doesn't feel particularly memorable since it's too short and just doesn't give any time to even register the characters.

The Last Night (Thai Mini-Series) - 2025
This is part of "4 Destiny" BL Project, a four-part Thai BL anthology on love, fate, and redemption. This is the story of a bond between the living and the dead. When one friend becomes a monk and the other dies in an accident, their connection takes on a new form. After Aim’s sudden death—caused by a painful mistake with his best friend Yot—secrets from that night come to light, revealing Aim’s hidden feelings. 2 episodes of about 35-40 minutes each, this one didn't connect with me at all.

Red Moon and Wine (Thai Mini-Series) - 2025
This is part of "4 Destiny" BL Project, a four-part Thai BL anthology on love, fate, and redemption. When a man enters a cursed hotel tied to a vow beneath the red moon, vengeance, immortality, and love intertwine in a battle against destiny. As the red moon rises, truth surfaces; their souls have been bound for centuries, trapped by unresolved love and vengeance. This was really bad. 2 episodes of about 35-40 minutes each

Un-In Heart (Thai Mini-Series) - 2025
This is part of "4 Destiny" BL Project, a four-part Thai BL anthology on love, fate, and redemption. 2 episodes of about 40 minutes each. Since they decided to go separate ways, Heart hoped Un would end up with someone who truly loved him and made him even happier than he did. But it turned out that it was too hard for him to resist. When the two saw each other again, he hoped he would go back with him. But the harder he had tried, the unhappier his ex-boyfriend had gotten. On their upcoming anniversary, Heart asked Un to hang out with him. This would be the last time, and he would go his way. He found it, perfect love which many were desperate to find, but failed to keep it.

Blood Fighters (Thai Mini-Series) - 2025
This is part of "4 Destiny" BL Project, a four-part Thai BL anthology on love, fate, and redemption. The ring of fighters turned into the ring of love. Yim, a young chap, had to work at a boxing gym to pay the debts for his father. Yim had to work and train as a boxer. However, what he was doing was a far cry from what he really wanted to be. One day, Yim had a fight with some thugs. He got help from Kampan who was skilled in boxing. Kampan trained Yim for boxing, but he had his own reasons for not doing boxing. So he passed on his boxing abilities to Yim. 2 episodes of  average 35 minutes each.

Situationship in the City (Vietnam Mini-Series - 2025)
2 episodes of 20-25 minutes each. Nhat An is a talented, confident young man with a stylish Y2K fashion sense. Everything totally changes when he accidentally "collides" with CEO Bao Minh. And from there, the "ambiguous" love relationship between Nhat An and Bao Minh starts. But it also shows that things aren't simple when the two had a special relationship in another life, the ghost of Nhat An "encountered" the magician Bao Minh. As long as the show was in modern times, it was a simple love story but the whole supernatural angle was just confusing for me and it very felt very rushed. Either the screenplay had gaps or execution was flawed. Lead actor playing the fem queen was quite good.

Secret (Korean Mini-Series) - 2025
Jeongsu and Yuho awaken imprisoned in an unidentified locked room, forced to stand naked before one another. A mysterious man known only as X, camera in hand, coldly compels them to engage in forbidden acts of intimacy. Caught between fear and raw physical instinct, the two strangers are drawn into a distorted relationship shaped by coercion and desire. This is a brutal test of survival that pushes the limits of sensation. 3 episodes of 9 minutes each. Honestly there is not much happening here. It gets boring very soon.

Unfollow (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
The main lead accidentally follows a popular guy on social media and quickly unfollows in panic. It's too late. His classmate notices what happened. The next day, he brings it up in their study group and teases him about it. The protagonist feels embarrassed, but he's surprised when the teasing turns into flirting. What could have been alighthearted BL ends up being awkward story especially since the popular guy literally stalks and forces himself on the innocent one. He's already acting possessive before the relationship even started. Thankfully only 3 episodes of about 7 minutes each.

Winter Fever (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
4 episodes of about 9 minutes each. A fifteen-year friendship that turns into love begins to crumble when Yujun starts believing that Yeon Ho’s devotion is not love, but pity. Seeing Yeon Ho’s seemingly perfect life, Yujun comes to think of himself as a flaw in it and decides that Yeon Ho would shine more without him. Proud and resolute, he chooses to break up, even if it means becoming the villain in Yeon Ho’s life. When the love he gave with his whole being is rejected, his everyday life collapses. His love turns into an obsessive desire, where keeping Yujun by his side matters more than his happiness or pain.  Into this fracture steps Baek Hyeon Seo, a senior who appears gentle but exploits their suffering. He pushes Yujun to use him as a way to end the relationship, quietly taking advantage of Yeon Ho’s absence. Their intertwined emotions spiral into a tragic romance driven by guilt, obsession, and manipulation. I have ti say this mini series was quite unique and nice.

Between Doors (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
6 episodes and 6 minutes each. The main character Hyeon is relaxing at home when an unexpected visitor Yunjae knocks on his door and starts making out with him. Hyeon is stunned and Yunjae pulls away as soon as he realizes this isn't his ex-boyfriend. Instead of stopping here, the two occasionally keep meeting in the building nd keep flirting with each other, right up until Hyeon's boyfriend shows up. Even though Yunjae finds out hat he is taken, Hyeon still shows up at his house and they two end up sleeping together. I am honestly not sure what is this show trying to say. There's zero character development or chemistry. The awkward conversations go nowhere.

Let it be Called Love (Myanmar Mini-Series) - 2026
4 episodes of 15 minutes each. This is not really a BL. If it is, things are quite subtle. It is about a gay young teenage who is struggling to find a place in this world where he can fit in. Our protagonist, right from school days has been teased for being gay. In fact even his closest friend and his mother and sisters give him a hard. Time about it including the fat that he brings no money to the house. Dejected by everywhere, one day when he is about to take his life, a stranger saves him, helps him get a job in a restaurant as a singer and turns his life around. Thankfully our lead still has his feet on the ground and shows up for his mother and sisters as well when they are in need despite their behavior. There are so signs of attraction or love between the stranger and our lead, except a close friendship but there is always a possibility. (Maybe the laws do not allow for it)

My Stepbrother is My Favourite Novelist! (Japanese Mini-Series) - 2026
4 episodes of about 10 minutes each. The story follows Kei, a serious novelist with zero romantic experience, who is suddenly tasked with writing a Boys' Love novel. Just as he struggles to understand the emotional depth required for the genre, his sharp-tongued, mischievous, and seemingly worldly younger stepbrother, Kairi, suddenly moves in. Kairi is a fan of the author and is shocked to realize that the author is his step brother. Circumstances arise so now Kei must turn to his stepbrother for real-world relationship research who has some experience dating guys, to find inspiration and understand the "thrill" of BL romance, so he can write his book, In the process, as expected two boys fall for each other.

Sweet Blood (Korean Mini-Series) - 2026
8 episodes of about 10 minutes each. On the night of a blue moon lunar eclipse that happens once in ten years, the portal between the vampire world, where drinking human blood is forbidden, and the human world opens. Lucifer, a vampire prince who desperately craves human blood, descends into the human world. Minu, a university student in his early twenties, moves to the city from the countryside and has a rare disease that puts his life at risk whenever he bleeds. One day, Minu becomes a victim of a hit-and-run, bleeds and Lucifer drinks his blood, which somehow creates a blood bond between the, They now cannot be physically separate and are forced to spend time together. Slowly feelings start to develop and Lucifer confuses how he is only half vampire and his brother is out there for his life. After this the series becomes pretty run-of-the mill. It started off well but somewhere loses its plot.

Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

Gaya Sa Pelikula (Filipino Series) [Like In The Movies]

Pinoy BL series seem to be catching up to the popularity of the Thai shows. And I must say that they are doing a pretty good job at it. Where Thai series started to get repetitive with so many shows based in a college setting with seemingly similar storylines, Pinoy series are offering the viewers with new and interesting stories and some really good sets and surroundings. This series was 8 episodes of about 25-20 minutes each. Karl, a 19-year old introvert architecture student is in the middle of an identity crisis. Prior to the start of the second semester in college and forced by his parents, he moves into his uncle's condominium unit so that he can learn to be financially independent. Karl takes on odd jobs online to do so. But when one of his major clients suddenly goes MIA, he is left short on funds and without a means to pay for his utilities. An opportunity presents itself when his cocky neighbor Vlad has to hide from his family and proposes to share Karl's space for th...
