A Revry original, Unconventional is a really well-liked queer dramedy that feels totally different from the usual stuff. The heart of the story is about two pretty eccentric queer siblings and their partners trying to build a family that doesn't follow the traditional rules. It takes a super raw and unfiltered look at queer life, diving deep into things like mental health, addiction, and how complicated identity and relationships can get. It’s not afraid to get messy or show people at their most vulnerable, and it really pushes boundaries while showing a lot of different queer experiences. The first season has nine episodes, and each one is about a half-hour long. The story centers on Noah, a grad student who’s been struggling for years to wrap up his PhD. He’s been with his husband, Dan, for nine years, and they’ve recently gotten married and moved to Palm Springs. While they're trying to figure out how to start a family and have a baby, they decide to shake things up by in...
This is the second installment in the three part Daydream Obsession series. The good thing is that after watching the first film, I knew what to expect and went in with very little expectations. The bad thing is that this film is equally bad, soft porn and nothing to much write home about.
Clayton’s obsessions are in the past, he tells his video journal. He has moved on from Brian and has finally found love with Luke and they have dated for six months now. Mostly he is content, but something makes him think that Luke may be cheating. He decides to follow Luke around to see who he is cheating him on with so that he can punish those people as well. In the process he ends up threatening a homophobe, a girl who is Luke's colleague and finally a young friend of Luke. Clayton’s obsession and joy with overpowering those home wrecking victims lead him on a delusion filled path of naked men playing with themselves and plenty of full frontal nude shots.
Not much has changed in this version. Clayton sees these random guys and imagines them completely naked showering, bathing or just playing with themselves. there are more than enough shots of fully naked men with their penises in your face. Sadly it is not at all exciting as it may sound. I'd rather watch good old porn. Clayton, as the main character was not endearing from the jump, so the movie makers made him even more annoying this time around. It was understandable when he made bad decisions as a closeted man, but as an insecure boyfriend, he really goes completely bonkers. Continue to avoid this. Poor me will be reviewing the third part soon knowing very well what I am getting into. (1/10)
