This film is a genuinely moving story about courage, identity and inner freedom, centered on an intersex person trying to figure out who they really are. The fact that an actual intersex actor was cast in the lead role is genuinely worth applauding. It is apparently a remake of a classic film of same name that came out in 1972. Since I have not seen the film, I really have references to compare, which is good. Set in Spain, we meet Adela, a woman in her twenties and the only child of a conservative couple living in a small provincial town. Her days are mostly spent at the family antique shop, and her whole life has been shaped by her mother's overprotectiveness and total silence around her intersex condition, something she's faced real social discrimination for. Despite all the restrictions placed on her, she finds odd little pockets of normalcy in her life, and her closest connection is a gay priest, basically the only person she feels she can talk to freely. That quiet routi...
Harry, a typically angst-filled teen, is harboring secret desires for his roguish and perpetually horny straight best friend Jamie. When Jamie starts hooking up with a local girl, jealousy rears its ugly head and his true feelings start inching ever closer toward the light. The film examines those lusty teen infatuations that can be hard to shake. Nice film.
On the eve of his departure, Hung, a farm worker, is preparing to cross the border of rural Vietnam in search of refuge abroad. His days have been defined by routine and labour, yet his final day with Hoang, a fellow worker, transforms his understanding of himself and the world around him. The film unveils the multi-faceted nuances and struggles of queerness, displacement, and the nation. I thought it was quite mundane and boring tbh.
Robby, a photography student, invites his high school friend Greyson to model for his portfolio. Greyson, recently heartbroken, agrees to update his dating app photos. As the photoshoot unfolds, the two grow closer—romance quietly developing between shutter clicks. The two boys were cute and this short film was a simple sweet love story of young adults.
Sixteen-year-old Mateo is going through a confused homosexual and psychic awakening. The spirit of his mother, Rosa, appears to him, but he's not ready to say goodbye and doesn't know how to handle his loneliness. When his grandmother is hospitalized, he meets Enrique, a boy who has recently committed suicide and with whom he develops a strange and intimate relationship, experiencing the beautiful imperfections of love and life. Overall a bizarre film tbh
At a local art fair in Germany, Jonas is preparing for the launch of his latest exhibition, Beyond the Aquarium. As a black man, an immigrant, and a gay man, Jonas' multiple marginalized identities have not only put him under creative pressure, but also social stigma. During the nights, he dreams of fluorescent-colored sea creatures, which suggest a change to his love life and career. The film explores his intimate artwork, his anxiety about being fetishized by the white gay community over his racial features and the touching moment when he finally met his one true love.
Cynical yet yearning for love, Tristan fills his loneliness with hookups through dating apps. One night, he meets a gentle stranger at a bar. Their magical, passionate evening changes him—briefly—but leaves a lasting sense of real connection.
Sagat, a young farmer, heads to a cemetery in the middle of the night. The next morning, a mysterious man is found sitting in Sagat's living room. He is Roman, who was brought back to life somehow by Sagat. He takes care of him and then there is almost 20-25 min long take on them having full on sex. But Roman wants to go back underground. I did not really understand what was the connection between these 2 guys and what ties them together. A mid film of almost 55 minutes duration where half time is just for a sex scene! I am not sure what were the makers intentions.
An industrial slaughterhouse somewhere in Germany. Jakob is a security guard, while Boris from Bosnia does the slaughtering. In this place where animals are turned into meat, a different kind of evil is growing. Exploitation, the abuse of foreign labor, unpaid wages. But even in such an inhospitable environment, there is a place for tenderness and love. Boris wants to go back home and Jakob wont stop at anything to help him get that even risking his own life and future. He gets the shock of his life when turns out Boris ha a wife back home. Such a beautiful film and fantastic acting and direction. This short film is almost perfect.
During a hard-fought, tense cup semi-final, the two captains of a football team have an argument that ends up revealing a secret buried in the dressing rooms of the first division: the silence of homosexual footballers. Soon the two start to make out and before you know the whole team is watching them. A powerful and much-needed message about authenticity, fear, and courage in the world of sports. By focusing on the captains, the film questions the very concept of "leadership" and what it means to be strong both on and off the field.
Haru is a young gay man who lives in a small Japanese town. One day he meets American guy Leo and they hook up and spend sometime together. Leo is going back to US since he cannot be openly gay in Japan. Haru suggests going to the beach for there final hangout time together. After they go back their separate ways, Haru's deep-seated longing and insecurity start to bloom in his closed-off world.
In the near-future, the Japanese government has begun experimenting with male artificial womb transplants in order to solve the problem of childlessness. Takashi is one of the first transplant recipients, and becomes a surrogate father, producing fertilized eggs for a strange couple. One day, a man who claims to be the father of the fetus comes to visit, and in his room, they face the problem of how a man can conceive and give birth to a child. No necessarily gay film but quite a new idea.
Watamula is a place where Curaçao breathes. It is also the destination of René, who emerges from a river and staggeringly continues his journey across the island. He comes across sharp thorns and sweet rose petals, meets with rejection and comfort, clutching the amulet he was given at birth. The short film centers on a young man’s sexuality, focusing heavily on identity, magical realism, and sensual awakening within an Afro-Caribbean context. Weird yet beautiful !
Hubert is forced to confront his past during the premiere of a play by an old friend. He reminisces about a lost relationship and the choices he made in his youth, which constitute the titular “Kairos” – a turning point in life. Interweaving two timelines, the film explores themes of missed opportunities and the courage to live authentically. A beautiful film, although slightly ambiguous.
Noah is an introverted teenager who channels his secret attraction for his classmate Luca through writing. As summer begins, he returns to a familiar place filled with bittersweet memories: a naturist beach he used to visit as a child with his parents, before his father fell ill. There, he meets Lucas, and he now needs to confront his desires and his limits. It is a lovely film about first love, handled in a fairly safe manner. It is just a shame that the filmmakers lacked the courage to do something more with the material.
We’re dealing with the aftermath of a relationship that is currently over. A young man is left haunted by the ghost of a voice message he can’t take back. His lover has broken up with him, up and left without any opportunity for closure. This short unfolds as an experimental memory piece: a shared session of lovemaking; a memory so vivid it feels real. Visually stunning film where we see beautiful intimate moments with a voice message that keeps playing n repeat in background. How I wish the overall film was also as engaging as the visual imagery!
Dolores shows up at her son Isaac’s apartment, bringing supplies for his upcoming performance. What begins as a routine drop-off soon unravels into an evening of unexpected vulnerability. Amid shared memories and painful revelations, Dolores and Isaac grapple with the sacrifices, silence, and secrets that have strained their bond, each wondering if healing is still within reach. Nicely done film that also slightly touches upon immigrants building a new life and being true to themselves.
The story of Sef, a 19-year-old boy from Limburg, who struggles with his sexuality and falls in love with his best friend. When the group of friends are going for a swim, one of his friends sees him liking boys pics on phone and assures that he is ok with it. A summer trip to the river turns into a moment no one saw coming. Beneath the water, a tension arises between two friends, surfacing in the form of shock, anger, and questions neither of them is ready to face. This film follows Sef on his journey of self-discovery and acceptance as he faces the challenges of identity and love in a conservative environment.
Richie trades the warmth of his friends' company for the thrilling promise of an online encounter, but once in the apartment of the Bodybuilder the initial promise turns into awkward but vulnerable conversation, which eventually gives way to an unusual ritual- one that is physical, intimate, and strangely liberating at the same time. The host just wants to lift a muscular man and nothing more leaving the visitor extremely confused. An awkward, funny and surprisingly tender encounter between two men as they confront their own fantasies, masculinity, and what they truly want to say.
Fully AI generated short film about two young adults in college, Ezra and Cash. Cash is bad news and is bullied but Ezra likes him and they both loss after spending time together. But when church head finds out, they reprimand Ezra. These two must defy strict traditional and religious rules imposed by their families to build a life together. It's obvious AI generated where it will be long time before we make progress But despite that the story felt rushed and not a good feeling to watch at all.
An Irish-American hitman Kyle gets a Tokyo yakuza hit job - his target is Julien, his ex-lover and a French filmmaker holding the gang’s criminal proof. Kyle betrays the mob to save Julien, and the pair run through stormy Shinjuku. After a brutal port battle takes down the syndicate, Kyle surrenders for his crimes, while Julien completes his documentary 'Deep Red and Black' and waits for his lover’s release.Again AI generated and I was absolutely not interested in watching it.
Two lovely boys meet by chance on campus. Their feelings grow deeper day by day. Some small setbacks come along and bring troubles to their relationship. However, true love prevails. In the end, they stay side by side and hold on to their love. Third AI generated movie as part of the package that I saw. I dont think I can watch these AI generated gay short films. The boys are hot but everything else feels quite lame.
