Journey With You (Chinese Series)

I've always had kind of a love hate relationship with Chinese historical BLs. Some are genuinely excellent, but then there are others that cram in so much plot that keeping track of all the layers of betrayal and scheming gets exhausting, and I end up checking out mentally. Part of the issue is also just how much content is out there in this space, so something really has to stand out to keep me hooked. In this case, the production value is genuinely impressive, top tier stuff, but story wise, I just couldn't bring myself to actually care about these characters. There's a ton of political scheming and backstage manipulation running throughout. Somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, a hostage ends up falling for his own Prince Charming. The show runs eight episodes, each around 50 to 60 minutes long. After spending three years guarding the border, Fifth Prince Yin Qi gets called back to the capital because of a secret letter, only to end up walking straight into a deadly...

My Untucked Life (Documentary Series)

What happens when a queen is asked to film her life and herself on tour? The queens are raw, real, and unfiltered in a new series that explores the lives of iconic drag artists from across the globe. Spanning over 8 episodes of about 10-12 minutes each, the series takes us for a behind-the-scenes look at what happens backstage, on stage and everything in between. Unplugged, uncensored and untucked, it's all happening on "My Untucked Life."

EP 1 - Aja gives an inside look at the Haus of Aja UK Tour with sisters Kandy Muse, Xunami Muse and Dahlia Sin. We see how they prep for their tour, their dance practices, some arguments related to choreography and what happened sometimes when the show doesn't go as planned.
EP 2 - Joey Jay shares a glimpse of their life in Phoenix, Arizona, and their recent tour of Canada. Extremely handsome as a man and gorgeous in drag, Joey also had the most handsome boyfriend.
EP 3 - Get a behind-the-scenes look at the life of Los Angeles diva, Salina EsTitties. We see the process of him getting ready, choosing dresses, photoshoots adjust going over the daily routine.
EP 4 - Follow a day in the life of Nicole Paige Brooks as she hosts the 2025 Peachies Awards in Atlanta, Georgia.
EP 5 - Join Aja  backas she shares more of her journey on the Haus of Aja UK Tour with sisters Kandy Muse, Xunami Muse, and Dahlia Sin. This was just an extension of first episode continuing with the fun banter of the group.
EP 6 - Join Aguascalientes diva, Serena Morena, for a weekend adventure in Mexico! He has a full time corporate job during the day as a HR manager and does drag at night. We also witness support from his family and how he wants to celebrate his grandma's birthday.
EP 7 - Lexi from Season 17 shares a behind-the-scenes look into her personal life and drag career.
EP 8 - Get ready for Godessa universe domination with M1ss Jade So! We go over her journey of living in Singapore, doing drag in Asia and how she takes a break between the hectic schedule.

Personally, I am not much into drag shows in person on TV and am likely one of the very few gays who has never seen Ru Paul's show, but one thing has been very clear to me is that doing drag is passion and people who it have my utmost regard and respect, It takes so much hard work, passion, makeup, artistry and creativity - Hats off! It is not easy to do it but looking at some of these behind the scenes makes me believe the true love that these artists have. (5/10)

Hi Golu! I have been following your blog for quite a few years and I like the reviews you make.

Do you think you can help me by making a review of a mexican film I translated myself to english? If you find something that is too complicated or not easy to understand, can you tell it with me so I can fix it?

The movie is called "Las apariencias engañan" or Deceptive Appearances.
It's probably one of the first LGBT movies made in Mexico. It's from the same director of "Doña Herlinda and her son", so you can expect the same kind of movie, more like a "slice of life" than a big drama.

It was forbidden in Mexico due to censorship by the government for 5 years, done in 1978 but got a premiere in 1983.

It has only been available on a old vhs copy, but the director (who died in 2020) did a rescan himself from a the negative aprox in 2010, he shared with me a dvd copy and I upscaled the image with AI from that scan to HD.

Also I retouched the audio with AI, isolating all the voices, then scene by scene I had to level the voices and ambient sound so it can be clearer to understand in spanish.

The film never got english subtitles or an english release in any country, so I did the subtitles myself (with the help of google translate) but I would also like you to give me your thoughts on that since english is not my first language, I plan to share them in the future, but I want them to be good.

Hope you can help me and I would love to read your review of the movie, I hope you like it!

Can you send me and email so I can send you the link and the subs?

My email is cuau_cg@yahoo.com.mx

The Tuxedo (Thai Series)

When I saw this series with 8 episodes of about 20-25 minutes each, I thought, good: Finally someone has come to senses and made a show which is not stretched out and they have tried to squeeze in a decent storyline in a good small episode format. But unfortunately, despite a decent premise on hand, the clunky writing, bad screenplay and an extreme tasteless portrayal of mental illness makes this show, not a fun watch. By the time it finishes, you just want to laugh off at the entire absurdity of it all. Aioun is talented tuxedo designer and very much in demand but he has handful of clients and he builds suits only for people who he feels a connection to. One night when his younger brother is about to get mugged, he is helped by a total stranger named Sichol. Since he tears his suit in the fight and has an interview the next day, Aioun gifts him a suit form his design as an expression of thanks. Sichol's interview is for. Personal assistant of a man named Nawee, a wealthy heir to h...

Heartstopper: Season 2 (Web Series) (UK)

Heartstopper Season 1 was a universal hit. You could not have read one bad review or heard from anyone who has seen the show not liking it. It was the kind of series that is easy to love, with sweetness exploding out of every scene without overwhelming you. So naturally, when Netflix greenly Season 2, expectations were naturally high and the same happened with me. I didn't know what to expect, but I had high expectations of this very very sweet teenage love story. And with eagerness and being a little late to the game by a few days, here I am, pouring my t thoughts down having just finished one of the most anticipated shows of the year. The second season also has 10 episodes and has all of our loved ones from the original season. The show continues from where it had left off in Season 1. Charlie and Nick are a couple and only their very close circle of friends know about it. This includes Charlie's best friend Tao and his trans best friend Elle. The center of the show is still ...

Gaya Sa Pelikula (Filipino Series) [Like In The Movies]

Pinoy BL series seem to be catching up to the popularity of the Thai shows. And I must say that they are doing a pretty good job at it. Where Thai series started to get repetitive with so many shows based in a college setting with seemingly similar storylines, Pinoy series are offering the viewers with new and interesting stories and some really good sets and surroundings. This series was 8 episodes of about 25-20 minutes each. Karl, a 19-year old introvert architecture student is in the middle of an identity crisis. Prior to the start of the second semester in college and forced by his parents, he moves into his uncle's condominium unit so that he can learn to be financially independent. Karl takes on odd jobs online to do so. But when one of his major clients suddenly goes MIA, he is left short on funds and without a means to pay for his utilities. An opportunity presents itself when his cocky neighbor Vlad has to hide from his family and proposes to share Karl's space for th...
