A Revry original, Unconventional is a really well-liked queer dramedy that feels totally different from the usual stuff. The heart of the story is about two pretty eccentric queer siblings and their partners trying to build a family that doesn't follow the traditional rules. It takes a super raw and unfiltered look at queer life, diving deep into things like mental health, addiction, and how complicated identity and relationships can get. It’s not afraid to get messy or show people at their most vulnerable, and it really pushes boundaries while showing a lot of different queer experiences. The first season has nine episodes, and each one is about a half-hour long. The story centers on Noah, a grad student who’s been struggling for years to wrap up his PhD. He’s been with his husband, Dan, for nine years, and they’ve recently gotten married and moved to Palm Springs. While they're trying to figure out how to start a family and have a baby, they decide to shake things up by in...
This film was like the Thai version of Japanese pink films. While it may be an erotic movie (which is really obvious), the 'plot' they tried to put in was really bad, and didn't work at all. Honestly, I spend 2 hours watching this movie, and I still have no idea what was actually going on, besides some people almost being murdered and constant sex between multiple of the characters. At least Japanese films are more comprehensible.
The story was something like the (I think). Cherry is a bipolar lady who has a gang (in a deserted building) where Playboy and Gold Hair prostitute. James is an drug addict who like works for Cherry. Boy is Cherry's "sex instrument". James, Cherry and Gold Hair are in love with Playboy but Playboy is in love with Boy. James gets tired of Cherry and decides to betray her and free Playboy and himself but Playboy leaves with Boy. At the end, we don't know who finishes dead; James or Cherry.
The directing, pacing, plot, script, cinematography, and music are all terrible. I did not even have the patience to sit through the film. Tries to be too many things and fails at pretty much everything. This movie came off as a juvenile attempt at "indie art". It is incurably boring. I'm not sure it should actually be called a movie as it's completely lacking in story - some full on porn has more of a story than this. It is pretty full on with mainly scenes of either sex or extreme violence/torture and I found it so boring that I would skip little bits to see if it improved but I was disappointed. Avoid (0/10)
