A Revry original, Unconventional is a really well-liked queer dramedy that feels totally different from the usual stuff. The heart of the story is about two pretty eccentric queer siblings and their partners trying to build a family that doesn't follow the traditional rules. It takes a super raw and unfiltered look at queer life, diving deep into things like mental health, addiction, and how complicated identity and relationships can get. It’s not afraid to get messy or show people at their most vulnerable, and it really pushes boundaries while showing a lot of different queer experiences. The first season has nine episodes, and each one is about a half-hour long. The story centers on Noah, a grad student who’s been struggling for years to wrap up his PhD. He’s been with his husband, Dan, for nine years, and they’ve recently gotten married and moved to Palm Springs. While they're trying to figure out how to start a family and have a baby, they decide to shake things up by in...
An erotic Filipino film, which is also trying to tell a proper story with some redeeming qualities. To be honest with a title like this and the poster, I was half expecting a semi porn, but it had an interesting story. Lets not talk about the execution part, because there is a lot can be improved but at least the makers are trying.
Inno is a young boy who tries to make money by selling clothes online with his girlfriend. His father, a macho dancer in his days, got in an accident sometime back and is now dependent on drugs. This has made him abusive to both his wife and Inno. When they can't take it anymore, the mother takes him to a gay club where boys dance naked to make money. He soon catches the eye of a lady named Pol, who recruits young boys for private parties. The owner then choses a boy for himself in the party who can make lot more money. Inno gets lucky and gets selected and manages to seduce the owner in the second try. The money and comfort starts getting to his head but soon he realizes there I more than meets eyes. The older guy is a psychopath r sadomasochistic guy , who gets pleasure by torturing boys, even killing them. Pol soon also realizes that Inno is the son of his father and I guess they used to be some kind of lovers in their hey days. Along with help from the other slave boy of the older gentlemen, the two boys successfully manage to kill the rick guy to get out of his chain.
Surprisingly there is quite a bot of nudity in the film including penis shots. And for some reason, lot of talk about Inno having a big dick, especially when his mother takes him to the club and says with your big dick you can make lot of money. Gross !! The film progresses well in the sense that there is proper character build up for Inno who goes from carefree social media obsessed but very poor straight young boy. To soon realizing the big bad world of using his body to make money. But also soon realizes that not everything is hunky dory. But sadly, despite the good screenplay, the direction of the film still felt very under whelming. Its hard to pin point at anything specific. The acting is strictly ok and there is enough focus on making this as a sexy seductive thriller rather than focusing on the story. Latter could have been better. There is absolutely no rewatch value to the film and even in the first viewing, it is strictly ok. Inno acted just alright and to be honest wasn't even that sexy. Some of the other boys from the club were way much hotter. Watch this only if you are a huge fan of gay piney films and have nothing better to see. (4/10)
