Journey With You (Chinese Series)

I've always had kind of a love hate relationship with Chinese historical BLs. Some are genuinely excellent, but then there are others that cram in so much plot that keeping track of all the layers of betrayal and scheming gets exhausting, and I end up checking out mentally. Part of the issue is also just how much content is out there in this space, so something really has to stand out to keep me hooked. In this case, the production value is genuinely impressive, top tier stuff, but story wise, I just couldn't bring myself to actually care about these characters. There's a ton of political scheming and backstage manipulation running throughout. Somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, a hostage ends up falling for his own Prince Charming. The show runs eight episodes, each around 50 to 60 minutes long. After spending three years guarding the border, Fifth Prince Yin Qi gets called back to the capital because of a secret letter, only to end up walking straight into a deadly...

Issues 101

After reading not so positive reviews about this film online, I Wasn't particularly excited about watching this film but it turned out to be a decent flick. Even though the movie had very low production values, gave the impression of having been made off a camcorder, it still was decent enough and made a point about frat life in US in college.

Joe is a college freshman who mistakes a initiation from a frat brother as hitting on him. BUt after things are clarified, the eventually joins the fraternity. Christian is assigned as his frat "elder brother". Things are fine until one night when Joe and Christian end up having sex while Christian is drunk. Christian keeps telling Joe that he is straight and did that because he was drunk. Ultimately later he accepts that he is straight but he has issues which he need to work on. A twisted lover triangle forms when the confused Christian turns a romantic weekend getaway with his girlfriend Kim into a double-date; inviting along his gay sibling Michael and "little brother" Joe. Trouble starts when Michael and Joe hit it off and Christian is left to face his own issues, straight or otherwise. CHrostian feels jealous for them but also he has to deal with his own issues. In the background they show Joe contesting for frat elections etc but this is the crux of the movie.

Even though they have shown what goes on in a frat life, I am not very sure how much of that happens in real life. Another problem that I had was the movie was at a regular pace but towards the end, it seemed they ran out of budget and the movie just ends too quick all of a sudden.

A slightly better movie, especially after seeing such crap movies of late, its your call to see it or not. (5.5/10)

I got it at least ! Was tracking this film since Your reviewed it and , come on , petty enjoyed it. Both brothers had " the gay genes" . Such a lovely family !!!!

When I saw this series with 8 episodes of about 20-25 minutes each, I thought, good: Finally someone has come to senses and made a show which is not stretched out and they have tried to squeeze in a decent storyline in a good small episode format. Heartstopper Season 1 was a universal hit. You could not have read one bad review or heard from anyone who has seen the show not liking it. It was the kind of series that is easy to love, with sweetness exploding out of every scene without overwhelming you. So naturally, when Netflix greenly Season 2, expectations were naturally high and the same happened with me. Gaya Sa Pelikula (Filipino Series) [Like In The Movies]

Pinoy BL series seem to be catching up to the popularity of the Thai shows. And I must say that they are doing a pretty good job at it. Where Thai series started to get repetitive with so many shows based in a college setting with seemingly similar storylines, Pinoy series are offering the viewers with new and interesting stories and some really good sets and surroundings. This series was 8 episodes of about 25-20 minutes each. Karl, a 19-year old introvert architecture student is in the middle of an identity crisis.
