This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat.  The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...

You Should Meet My Son! 2

I had seen the part 1 of this film back in 2010. God! How time flies. I knew that there was a sequel to this movie, but somehow I did not get my hands on it until now. Well! It's never too late. Made 8 years after the original, this sequel takes the story forward of Brin and his mother and aunt. Having read my original review, I quite liked the fit, but then those days were different. I was relatively new to watching queer content and was just happy to see whatever I can. Now that I have seen more than enough, I can say that I may not have rated the film as high today. Havig said that, strictly as a pure comedy, this sequel is not bad. You just have to not look for logic, but immerse yourself in this simple, fun-loving story.

Brain and hs go-go boy fiancé Chase are now preparing for their wedding, with his over-enthusiastic mother Mae and aunt Rose (both from part 1) threatening to take over the planning. As the wedding draws nearer, Mae decides to invite Chase's estranged mother Irene , whose arrival opens old wounds and causes plenty of issues. Despite Chase's warning to not do that, Mae takes this step and now it backfires. Irene is determined to stop the wedding at all costs and Chase's past creates a divide with Brian as they try to keep things on track.A series of funny incidents happen like Mae trying the group of people who are preparing to protest at the wedding, change the banners. Or when Rose is trying to keep Irene busy so that she can keep her away from spoiling the wedding. We then have Chase's bachelor party the night before wedding and Irene and Rose dress in drag to attend the party, with Irene hoping that she can stop the wedding. We see some minor argument and discomfort between Chase and Brian about Chase's past hookups and how he slept around, but eventually like mature adults, they talk it out. Eventually Even Irene sees the sense of it, especially after having met Brigand how sorted he is and is nice guy. The film ends with the wedding and the possibility of another part. I wonder if they ever made part 3!!

I had seen the original film such long time, that I had no idea that the cast was changed between the two films. Who cares!! Everyone in the film did what they were asked of and they all perfectly fit their part. Brian is that straight-ish nerdy teacher guy and fits perfectly and Chase, with his hot perfect 6-pack body balances him. You can see how and why everyone is surprised on how they got together but love is love. The two form a believable chemistry that runs through the film and some of the best scenes are when they are on screen together. The real scene stealer of the film is actress playing Irene. She is the deeply religious woman who is hell bent in stopping this wedding and she gets some really funny lines like every time she is surprised on where is leather whips and chains etc. The film is giving the message of acceptance, relevant as much in today's time, but does that with a whole lot of humor. Rose was funny but the weakest link here is Mae. The actor had no charm at all. If you’re looking for a queer comedy full of gags and a quirky storyline but aren’t looking for the best writing, then this is a good queer comedy to watch. (6/10)

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Yes, some scenes were a bit amateurish but in the bigger scheme of things, that can be overlooked. The film is both beautiful and sad in its own unique way. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
