Honestly I can't believe we're still getting BL series this bad in 2026. This mini series runs about 7 to 8 episodes with a total runtime of just about an hour and it is so boring that I genuinely struggle to find the words. The actors are awkward, the story is as basic as it gets and there is almost nothing about this show worth saving. The makers do try to stir up some drama here and there but even that falls completely flat. Ho Won is a 23 year old university student who spots a man sitting alone at a gay bar and gets attracted to him. The man is Min U, a 33 year old who brushes Ho Won off immediately saying he's too young. Ho Won lies about his age and since he's made a bet with the bartender that he'll get this man home before the night is over, he switches tactics and eventually the two end up at Min U's place and sleep together. Despite being complete opposites in every way there's some kind of pull between them and they go on a couple of dates. But t...
About Him series from Signal23 TV is something that we are used toot have too much expectations. Most of tenor work focuses on hot and handsome black men with barely a thread of storyline. Imagine my surprise when I saw this season, with a proper story line and actually much less sex scenes. Although, almost every episode had one big scene but it's nowhere compared to what we have seen in the past.
Omari is a young man who runs an NGO that supports LGBT folks in all over Africa who are trying to see asylum and get a better life in South Africa, one of the few countries in Africa where it is not illegal and you do not fear for your life. An American guy mason is visiting for work and they hook up and start seeing one another, unsure of where this is all heading. In between all this, we hear that Omari's grandfather in Zimbabwe has passed away. SO the mother along Omari and younger brother visit their tribe. There we find out and are told with multiple flashbacks is that Omari's father used to be the tribe king. But when Omari was young, his father suspected him for being gay, so the mother ran off to Johannesburg with two boys having killed the father. But now with grandfather also dead, the tribe is looking for Omari to become a king. Of course, he cannot do that since he is gay and needs to help folks in Johannesburg. Seeing how his short term love may not end up being fulfilled , he eventually decides to become king and help his folks.
In almost every episode, we also meet some folks who are trying to run away from the torture and injustice being done to them in their respective countries and how they have managed to escape the atrocities. Sadly, this section is what makes the most interesting parts of this series. This season 3 is a big deviation from previous two seasons. There is a story, a message and a genuine attempt to show something different. To show us a side of reality of many African countries and the tortures sometimes they have to go through. The love story between two guys feel a little hollow. I mean if either of them expected to be anything more than a fling, then they were in the wrong. They wrecked both quite hot though and the one sex scene, the first one in the first episode was itself quite raunchy. I'd recommend to watch this for the horrifying personal stories of various African countries' LGBt members, then for sex and then for anything else (in that order). (5/10)
