Smoggie Queens: Season 2 (UK) (TV Series)

The whole gang is back for season 2 and it's a really fun return. I watched both seasons one after the other, which probably didn't help, because coming straight off season 1 this one felt just a tiny bit flat by comparison. Not bad at all, just hard to live up to. Mam, Dickie, Stewart, Lucinda, Sal, Neil, everyone's back and still very funny. It picks up right where things left off, same madness, same crowd, six episodes, thirty minutes each. Dickie is single again and already on the hunt. Mam has some seriously uncomfortable history coming back to bite her. Sal is stuck in this messy situation between Danni and Mel, and Mel has started seeing someone new, this really insufferable TikTok type. Lucinda's thing with Neil hits a wall when she finds out his ex-girlfriend's name is tattooed on his back. Stewart is out and living his best life. Dickie deals with being single the only way he knows how, by making everything about himself and convincing himself every random...

The Alter (Filipino Series)

Not every story idea that sounds good on paper translates well on screen. The series, which did promising was so bad in acting, direction , editing and just about everything. The only saving grace was the decent job done by the lead actor but even that couldn't save the mess of a series that this show is. Thankfully 8 episodes of about 10 minutes watch doesn't make it stretched beyond its welcome time. And don't get fooled by the poster. I don't know why the makers gave a sci-fi feel to the poster and the guy is not even half decent looking as it seems in the poster.

Elmo has just returned home from US to visit his twin sister Sarah after breaking up with his girlfriend. Once home, Sarah tells him that she has been dating two guys at the same time and she would need Elmo's help. He will need to dress up and pretend to be Sarah and be with Nathan, while Sarah spends time with other guy Jessie. The condition is to not kiss or have sex and if such a situation arises, to just call her. This goes on for a couple of days, till Elmo can't take it anymore and tells Nathan everything. Heartbroken Nathan comes back a few days later and confesses to Elmo that he is falling for him and that Elmo needs to accept he is gay. Jessie finds out about this and tells Sarah, who in turn gets mad at Elmo for being unfaithful to his sister, to which Elmo gives her a good class. Then randomly in the end, Elmo has a new boyfriend and they are throwing a party where Sarah hails trans people.

The ending was so wtf!! It's almost like the producers, directors, writers, cast etc. didn't even bother making this a cohesive story. I feel like a couple of episodes were just snipped after Episode 7 and series was just ended in finale. Sarah did not deserve a happy ending at all. Elmo forgave his literal abusive dad way too quickly. And Nathan deserves way better. We did not even get to see what happened to Nathan and Jessie and why did Elmo now have a new boyfriend. Also the trans angle in the end was very confusing. Was Sarah supposed to be trans all along? Why was it never made clear? Anyway, besides a bad screenplay and awful direction, the lead actor playing Elmo/Sarah tries his best to do a convincing job, but everyone else like the two boyfriends or the housekeeper or even the p[erson who trains Elmo how to act like Sarah were all sooooooo bad. I used to think there cannot be a worse show than Amore, but this one falls pretty much at the same level. (2/10)

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Drug Shore (Chinese)

Apparently tis film was adapted by a true story Well, true or not, movies/series about drugs are not easy to watch. I have always said that drugs is like the end of life for anyone. For those who sink into this sea of addiction, some manage to swim upstream to recovery, while others cannot make it to the shore. The film may not be the best, but it does have a noble intention to remind everyone of the evil affects of drugs and combining that with sex. Ah Zhe is in a happy relationship with his influencer boyfriend. On his partner's birthday, they end up going to a party, which interestingly is being hosted at a drug dealer's house and this is where for the first time he is exposed to the world of drugs. The duo somehow do it just enough and come back home but next day Ah She gets invited by the dealer Xiao Fei for a meal. The dealer has a soft corner for Ah Zhe, but before anyone realizes, Ah Zhe's life spirals out of control when slowly he starts doing more and more drugs, ...

Gaya Sa Pelikula (Filipino Series) [Like In The Movies]

Pinoy BL series seem to be catching up to the popularity of the Thai shows. And I must say that they are doing a pretty good job at it. Where Thai series started to get repetitive with so many shows based in a college setting with seemingly similar storylines, Pinoy series are offering the viewers with new and interesting stories and some really good sets and surroundings. This series was 8 episodes of about 25-20 minutes each. Karl, a 19-year old introvert architecture student is in the middle of an identity crisis. Prior to the start of the second semester in college and forced by his parents, he moves into his uncle's condominium unit so that he can learn to be financially independent. Karl takes on odd jobs online to do so. But when one of his major clients suddenly goes MIA, he is left short on funds and without a means to pay for his utilities. An opportunity presents itself when his cocky neighbor Vlad has to hide from his family and proposes to share Karl's space for th...
