Chained To My Bully Stepbrother (AI Vertical BL Drama)

This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat.  The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...

Pit Babe: Season 2 (Thai Series)

So I was definitely not the biggest fan of the series when it came. I remember it getting excellent reviews around sleek production, money spent, racing cars and what not, but somewhere I felt with too many characters, the overall plot was too convoluted. Sadly even in second season, the problem persists. There are way too many characters, each of them have some story in parallel going on. The plot points start to get repetitive, the pace is slow and almost all over the place and the misunderstandings between main couple were just to much to sit through. With 13 episodes, each of 50-60 minutes, it's not like it doesn't ask for your time. It is a significant time investment and sadly the return is not at all satisfactory.

Babe and Charlie are now in a committed relationship and they are still surrounded by a plethora of friends and colleagues. Babe still races and is top of the game. However a new boy Willy arrives and soon becomes a threat to Babe. For some reason, he also majorly flirts with Babe, much to Charlie's annoyance. Willy wants to sleep with him and this causes all kinds of rift between Babe and Charlie. I dont understand why Babe would not tel Charlie about this and a simple chat would have cleared everything up. Anyway, while this is going on, Charlie is also working in a lab creating some sort of serum so that everyone's super human abilities can neutralized and they can be all normal. This lab is now run by Way's boyfriend. Way does in season 1 and season 2 brings his look alike (who we retold later was his twin but had no special powers). There is the whole romance angle between these two again. Then there is the quintessential villain. I think his name is Tony. He is the same guy who managed to survive death and is back to take revenge. There is all kinds of games being played where turns out that Willy was working for Tony and he has some other guys. He wants to take revenge from Babe, his favorite student and Charlie , while he secretly is working on a serum that can enhance super human abilities (opposite of what Charlie is doing). These games, cat and mouse lie, continue to go with new ides. And then out of blue in third last episode, Charlie is experimented on something and then he loses his memory and love for Babe. As if so much confusion wasn't enough already, this new side makes things further messier. I haven't even talked of all the other 3-4 parallel love stories going on in the plethora of characters that this show has. Of course, the good guys win eventually. I am not sure how they eventually get successful in killing Tony because he apparently had the strength to come back from dead. Also it is not very clear if the lab was successful in making the serum that could make all these guys normal.

Honestly I dont know what was the need for season 2. I am guessing that people like me who did not like the show were very few and they had enough demand and money to make a follow up season. Clearly no money was spared this time either. You see a big care race scene in almost every episode, Production quality is high, and many steamy sex scenes which was a standard in first season. But is this all enough? Not for me. The big culprit is having way too many characters and in the process making it not just confusing but also not being able to do justice to either storyline. And then you leave viewers like me with utmost frustration. Even as a couple Babe and Charlie feel odd. They have great sexual chemistry but clearly they are not communicating. They are not trusting of the other person and sometimes they are too possessive. And if I could slap them both every time they referred to as Mama and Papa. I mean, who does that? And how is this cure or adorable!!  The middle of the show episodes had to be fast forwarded at so many times because they were just not interesting and the repeated pattern got very annoying. I feel like I am wasting time even writing this review and so I don't want to do that any further. I will be quite surprised if anyone at all ends up liking this season. (3.5/10)

Phor Lae Lukchai (Thai) [Father & Son]

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Yes, some scenes were a bit amateurish but in the bigger scheme of things, that can be overlooked. The film is both beautiful and sad in its own unique way. Aek is a gay dad, whose partner died right around the time their son Nueng was born through surrogacy in a road accident. The relationship between father and son is unpleasant and unstable. We are not really told why, but it seems the father has been unsuccessful in caring and loving his son because of his partner's death. Aek continues to hook up wit hookers. Also, Nueng is constantly bullied by everyone around him for having a gay dad. He has no friends, except Nat, a neighborhood boy, who also happens to be Nueng's boyfriend. In a sudden turn of events Nat is found murdered along with another boy naked. Saddened by the events, Nueng jumps from roof and k...

Sei no Gekiyaku (Japanese) [Dangerous Drugs of Sex]

Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. Unknown to him, he is saved by mysterious man Yoda Ryoji, and he wakes up finding himself tied up in leather and belts in a very BDSM setting. This mysterious saver soo...

The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground. Meanwhile Shibahara continues the search for Seiya (the guy who had cut off Haruto's penis). It turns out Seiya is now also taking care of the original club owner from part 1. Both of them were released after they had informed Shibahara of Aoyama's secret location. Shibahara tortures Seiya's boyfriend leading to Seiya killin...
