This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat. The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...
This is BL show from Myanmar, clearly inspired heavily from the Thai BL shows that are based in university and schools. The ending felt a bit open ended and something that I was not expecting and also I am not sure what the makers were trying to say, but at least the world of BL is expanding. With 9 episodes each of about 10 minutes, the show moves slow even though there is a proper story, I feel like the screenplay and direction lacks finesse, but good for the attempt I would say. Also what's up with the name? Should it be 'My Heart' looking at the heart on posters?
The show starts with a girl being killed in a bar and fast forward one year later. Thu Kha is a young boy studying in school. He has some heart condition but is overall ok. A new student Nay Thit joins the same school after getting expelled from previous school. He becomes friends with Thu Kha and his friends and soon enough the two have some spark going between them, despite rumors around Nay Thit having anger issues and rumors of humbling a killer. Enter the villain, the brother of the girl killed, who thinks that Nay Thit killed her while he was her boyfriend and is out to take revenge. Nay Thit tells Thu Khan that she was interested in him, but he never liked her and so she moved on but found a wrong boyfriend who was always jealous of her. The villain vows to take revenge and in a way childish manner, eventually stabs and kills Nay Thit same way as his sister was killed in front of tog Thu Kha and the series ends.
At the end of the show I was like wtf just happened. Firstly I was expecting that villain may kill Thu Kha to take revenge since he said he will take away the thing that Nay Thit loved most. Also Thu Kha having a weak heart ha don bearing to the story at all. The romance between the leads was barely attempted besides the two learning to drive a car or bike (now the could be because of country restrictions, but still very disappointing). The acting was extremely basic. The makers had two good looking leads who could have brought on some much needed love and chemistry in this but sadly are let down either by producer/director or the country politics. I am not sure. It seems like money was put in and effort was put into making something watchable. It definitely does not look cheap, but only if better effort were putting in actually detailing out the story too. Avoidable at best (3/10)
