Chained To My Bully Stepbrother (AI Vertical BL Drama)

This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat.  The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...

Hurricane Bianca: From Russia With Hate

I was so excited when I saw that Hurricane Bianca had come up with a sequel, I was excited about it. The first film though campy was fun when it came to wits, sarcasm and insults and I was expecting something very similar with this film too but alas! I was disappointed. Tt lacked the comedy, the sass and the self awareness of the first and felt just a gimmick to continue the brand. It is a true sequel but hardly funny. Worse, you see the main character in drag only towards the end.

In the first film, we see that Debbie goes to jail. In the sequel, its time she is released and she wants revenge on Richard (Bianca) at any cost. A news show where it shows how hard life is for gays in Russia and Saudi Arabia, Debbie cooks up a new plan to lure Bianca to Russia to accept a teaching award and a cash prize. Richard, who by now has settled in a life of no-drag, gets left with dim and slim Rex to take care of while their friend Stephen goes to try his luck in LA. Russia is not welcoming as expected. Debbie shows up with her daughter to make sure that Bianca is put in jail for being gay. But a series of events happen and its her daughter and Rex who end up in jail. Debbie and Richard now have to work together to get then out of jail with the help of Russia’s dream drag queen Katya. Even though Debbie’s daughter has a change of mind with all these events, Debbie still hopes that she will eventually be able to take here revenge.

As I said before, I was looking forward to this film, but the fragile script was a big problem. It was very basic and make-believe and just not enough to keep you attention and humor go on for laughs. The dialogue was not funny, the story lines were beyond implausible and the ending was flat. I wish there was more of Bianca in drag with sassiness and even other drag queens were rarely given an opportunity. Clearly, there was a lot missing in this film. Having said that, besides the sass and smack, this film is also a sweet story about friendship, cooperation, setting aside and seeing past each other's differences. So it depends on what way you wanna see it.

This one is sadly a miss. A wonderful opportunity got wasted but better luck next time. (3.5/10)

In the Gay themed films , "drag queens" ones are a segment very fragile . And unrepeatable .

I agree. I wish they had just left the original and not made a sequel just for the heck of it.

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
