Chained To My Bully Stepbrother (AI Vertical BL Drama)

This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat.  The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...

Bad Boy Street (French/English)

An interesting truly bi-lingual film made by an American director, this film does manage to keep you absorbed till the end. It might not excite you too much but at the same time, it does succeed in keeping you absorbed throughout, just to see what is going to happen next.

Claude is a 40 something French guy. One night returning form clubs, he finds a guy passed out completely and brings him home and washes his clothes and just is nice to him. This guy Brad, wakes up in the morning and finds the gesture very nice and returns favor by a morning job. Brad realizes that Claude doesn't know who he is and he can be himself. We later find out that he is a famous American actor and that Claude hates American films. An unlikely bond establishes between the two and they hang out to get to know each other and possibly find love. Claude's best friend Catherine is very happy with this development. She wants best for Claude. All this while Brad has been successful to keep his identity secret. But when a surprise birthday party is hosted by Catherine for Claude, his friends recognize who Brad is and Brad runs away. He messages Claude about his reality and how only with Claude, he was able to be himself. He loved him but unfortunately he cannot see him again. 6 months later he returns to Paris for promotion of his film and meets Claude again. Their awkwardness is very apparent because Claude has tried his best to move on by now. Clearing all unpleasantness, they sleep together and be with each other. Brad has to leave the next day to go back to US. Will he, won't he?

This film was a serious gay romance, but how I wish the production values were a little more accomplished. I think Claude's choice of actor was apt but Brad just did not fit his role of a famous Hollywood movie star trying to hide his identity. His acting also could have been better. The film’s production just feels a little too rushed and some editing choices make the film feel like a student production, which feels little too rough to be a stylistic choice. I really enjoyed the bi-language nature of the film. The mix of British and French is an interesting and greatly appreciated mix. However, looking passed the technical issues, it is not a bad movie at all.

Bad Boy Street is time pass and you wont be bored for sure. (5/10)

I had this film on my list for over a year, but for some unknown reason kept postponing it. And I'm glad I decided to watch it today when I was looking through my old travel photos and found this street, the Rue de Mauvais-Garcons on the map of Paris. Chrissake, I've been on that street! That got me hooked. Despite the chaotic moments in acting the story itself was nicely compact. It's always fascinating to observe your own thoughts while travelling - how seeing a detail of a building, a fountain behind a hedge - or a street sign - gets your imagination work overtime and create such elaborate stories as the script of this film. What has happened on this street, why is it called a Bad Boys' Street? And what would happen here, if this or that situation occurred? For example if a movie star passes out here and is rescued by a local and... I'm extra grateful for the writer for having two men as protagonists in this story. I tried to picture the same situation with a straight couple and tbh it was weird, off and downright fake.

And the open-promising ending was done perfectly, it definitely adds rewatchability and keeps the story continuing in the viewer's mind, probably creating a (slightly) different ending every time.

Thank you for your views and comments. To be honest. I don't remember much of what was there in the film :)
But I agree that its always fascinating to observe thoughts with traveling.

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Yes, some scenes were a bit amateurish but in the bigger scheme of things, that can be overlooked. The film is both beautiful and sad in its own unique way. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
