Chained To My Bully Stepbrother (AI Vertical BL Drama)

This is the second vertical AI BL drama I've sat through, and honestly I went in knowing better. I had it on while I was doing cardio at the gym, and what struck me was just how much the plot echoed the last one I watched. Same step brother romance angle, same mystery girlfriend showing up near the end, same extra guy pining after one of the leads. Genuinely the only thing going for it was the runtime, the whole thing wrapped up in forty five minutes flat.  The setup kicks off with Finn moving schools because his mom just married into money. He finds out his new step brother Aiden goes to the same place, and he's warned to keep his distance from him. Their first run in at school is rocky, just like you'd expect, but there's this odd pull between them neither can shake off. Finn keeps telling himself not to read into it because Aiden's straight and openly homophobic. Things shift when some kids start bullying Finn and the student council president, Ryan, steps in to ...

Now this one was definitely a different film. Whether it was good or bad is debatable and we will talk later about that but merging gay and religion together has not been done too often. When Mark a regular sex and drug addict hit rock bottom (after having attempted suicide), his brother checks him into a christian retreat center in New Mexico. Its run by a couple Ted and Gayle. They have 6 another inmates who came there as homosexuals and with the love of Christ and dedication, they were trying to get over that. Mark starts to bond well with Scott in the center. Ted sees this as normal male healthy bonding (even the 2 men dont think anything about it) but Gayle is always uncomfortable with the closeness of the two men. The reason we find later is that Gayle had lost her 17 year old son who was gay. She sees her son in Mark and wants to cure him. Scott and Mark question about their relationship after Scott's father dies and tells him that Scott is going to hell. Scott is devastated and realizes that the only reason he was in center was for his father and now it would be for Mark. Mark reciprocates but he thinks religion is changing him as well. Scott decided that he cannot lie anymore . He is gay and he accepts it. Gayle asks him to leave the center. Mark refuses to go with him. One night when Mark's room mate tries to commit suicide is when Mark realizes that happiness can be between a man and a woman or between 2 men. Nowhere in Bible does Jesus say that homosexuality is a sin. Scott comes to meet everyone when he decided to leave the town. Thats when Mark decided that he really loves him and goes with him. Ted and Gayle continue with their journey of religious healing for homosexuals. It was good to see Mark other than his Strachey persona. Scott as usual is hot. They made a good couple. The good thing about this movie was there was no unnecessary sex or nude scene. They tried to make the film as realistic and as commercial as possible for universal viewing. I Can see why some people might not like the film because of its slow pace and some religious preaching but I guess is about time we started exploring different themes within gay genre. Its not a bad film. Just try to keep up with the slow pace. (6/10)

I enjoyed this one. I dont own it but the dude I work with who borrowed Food of Love from me bought this one and allowed me to watch it. I wished we could force every Pastor in my state to have to watch this maybe with his family in the room with him. Forgive me I am bad with names and I dont have the movie here to look at to ues as a study guide but... The guy who he had to room with who had never felt love the sorta bigger dude I wanted him to at least get into bed with someone but I guess thats just because he reminded me much of myself in lots of ways. At the end when the lady is talking to the Pastor and he offers the money I must have got lost... What was that all about? Did she suddenly see love is universal and has no limits or bounds? Thanks for any help with this.

I watched this tonight--I've known about it for many years and it's been on amazon prime for quite awhile, it just never appealed for whatever reason. I just flipped it on for background while I was doing other things. It surprised me. It didn't beatify the lead character nor demonize the people running the conversion camp, both of which would not be unusual choices. I have always enjoyed Chad Allen's acting. Though some very dramatic things happen in the course of the movie I didn't find it deeply moving, but I did find it interesting. I think the husband understanding that it was addiction that was the problem and not being gay was the point on which everything rotated. I also rewatched Benjamin on prime today. It's a quirky romance nothing like this movie, though both don't go to the obvious places.

I actually remember quite liking this film long time back because I found it had something new to offer. But I am also sure that if I saw it today, I would probably end up finding multiple flaws. Cant believe that I saw this film just a couple of years after I started writing this blog. How time flies !!

I think the budget of this film was probably too small, but for that, the film definitely offers a different and unique storyline without over dramatizing anything. Yes, some scenes were a bit amateurish but in the bigger scheme of things, that can be overlooked. The film is both beautiful and sad in its own unique way. Every person has their own unique way of dealing with loss. This film is as much a psychological thriller as it is a soft porn BDSM portrayal of two young men that makes the film overall horrifying as well as humane. It is really hard to describe the genre of this film in one word. Its important not that the film has some really disturbing scenes so if you go into seeing this film, please proceed with caution. Although any sexual non-consensual activity is not ok, this film has its won strange way of showing that suicide is not the only solution to all life's problems. Makoto is a regular office goer, who just finds out that his girlfriend is probably cheating on him. ON top of it, his parents sudden death coming back from a trip that he forced them to take, he gets completely dejected and decides to commit suicide. The Shortest Distance is Round 3: Fallen Flowers

Continuing with the weird trilogy of "The Shortest Distance", I am so glad that finally I am done with part 3 and won't have to deal with this again in future. Thankfully, as of now the makers have not announced any further parts; which will save all of us on this earth from the embarrassment of watching this in near future. After the first 10 minutes are used in sort of recapping bits of first two parts, the story moves forward. Haruto is now starting to have feelings for Ruka, the mysterious pole dancer from second part. In a fit of rage, Ruka ends up killing the goat man and to save him and Haruto, Shibahara asks them to go underground.
